Woman Claims She Was Fired From Lingerie Shop For Being 'Too Hot'. Lauren Odes Was Fired For Being 'Too Hot'. A New Jersey woman said on Monday that she was dismissed from a temporary job at a New York lingerie warehouse because her male employers felt she was too busty and dressed too provocatively for the workplace. Wearing a form-fitting sequined black dress and black leather, sequin-studded boots, Lauren Odes, 29, said her Orthodox Jewish employers at Native Intimates told her that outfit and others like it were "too hot" for the warehouse. "We should not be judged by the size of our breasts or the shape of our body," Odes said. Odes's attorney, celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, said she filed a gender and religious discrimination complaint with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in New York. Odes said she felt her wardrobe was appropriate for a business that sells "thongs with hearts placed in the female genital area and boy shorts for women that say 'hot' in the buttocks area." Media photographers climbed on chairs and crashed into each other as Odes held a pose and Allred held up a series of purple, black and brown outfits she said also led to the woman's dismissal. A worker claims she was dismissed because her breasts are too large and she dressed too provocatively for her Orthodox Jewish employers. Lauren Odes was employed on a temporary contract at New York lingerie warehouse Native Intimates, but claims she was fired after less than a week for being too attractive. Odes, who also alleges she was asked to tape down her breasts, is being represented by Gloria Allred, a feminist lawyer with a history of championing women's rights. The New York Post quoted Allred: "She was told by supervisors that 'You're just too hot for this office. Maybe you should wear your boyfriends' T-shirts and sweatpants. "Ms Odes alleged that the supervisor suggested that Lauren try taping her breasts down to make them appear smaller." The blonde 29-year-old claims she was fired from her temporary position by telephone after leaving the office to change her tight black dress at the request of her employers. From a review by Aaron Howard: Abbie Lipschutz is a Jewish trickster. In mythology and folklore, the trickster is the one who breaks all the rules of conventional behavior. He's part prankster and part subversive. As a Jungian archetype, the trickster, with his charged libido, plays havoc with the rational personality. So, when a trickster writes his memoir, you don't expect a book designed to flatter the subject as a person of influence. Beginning at the dedication of his memoir "Child of the 20th Century" (Blue Thread/Jewish Currents), Houstonian Lipschutz informs readers that the purpose of his endeavor is to remember that Jews "have not just been victims, but also freedom fighters, the avant-garde of the Enlightenment, progressive movements and revolutions." At the same time, just three pages into the book, our trickster is capable of writing "My father didn't pull out in time; that's how I became his son." Lipschutz will turn 90 this week. He brings to mind another memoirist, Francois de La Rochefoucauld, who said, "Old people like to give good advice as solace for no longer being able to provide bad examples." His memoir appears at a time when memoirs rank as the most popular literary genre in our country. Most memoirs seem to be of two types. Bit of a controversial one this so please listen to the points I make at the beginning of this video (specifically that i myself find the acts perpetrated on the Jewish people as entirely abhorrent) .....more below \/ \/ The question is how the author(s) of the books known as the Deuteronomic history would have viewed the events and so I ask this: Given that these books are scripture and given the authors insistence that other abhorrent acts committed against the Israelites were God's morally justified acts, would that author have reached the same conclusion about the more recent events during World War II? In other words: is it consistent and justified to hold one view about the morality of the treatment of the Israelites at the hands of the Assyrians and Babylonians and not even consider the same arguments with respect to recent atrocities against their descendents?
