When the cantillation symbols, thematic and melodic similarities of Psalm 42 and 43 and the lack of a superscription in Psalm 43 are taken into consideration, it is the authors opinion that Psalm 42 and 43 should be considered as one manuscript and not two as traditionally written. Pinchgut Opera Gala 8 July 2009

Pinchgut's first ever fundraising evening was held in July, to raise funds for Pinchguts 2009 production of L'Ormindo. Performances by Pinchgut Operas chorus, Cantillation, and soloists from the Orchestra of the Antipodes, with Antony Walker conducting. This work from Pucell's King Arthur with Fiona Campbell, David Creco. The evening was opened by Her Excellency Marie Bashir Governor of NSW who has been a long time supporter of Pinchgut and describes us as one of the jewels of Sydney. The event was held in the beautiful foyers of the Australian Museum with direction by past Pinchgut creative teams:- Mark Gaal and lighting by Bernie Tan-Hayes. The Master of Ceremonies was Guy Noble. |
