After singing his emotional composition about Holocaust survivors "Who's Gonna Tell Their Story" at Lincoln Center in 2006, Rubin felt the need to share more of his compositions, though not as a solo artist. He recruited Srully Williger to join him and when they recorded their first song at Gideon Levine's GYL Studios, they realized they had found their third voice, with Levine rounding out the mizumin. Featuring seven songs by Rubin himself, and songs by Yossi Green, Tzali Stern and a classic song by R' Yechiel Mechel Rubin, A'H, this ten song album features music that is fresh and innovative, without ever losing its Yiddishe ta'am. With arrangements by musical greats Yisroel Lamm and Yaron Gershovsky and vocal arrangements by Gideon Levine, this album, which is set to debut after Yom Kippur, will be a welcome addition to the Jewish music scene. Investigating the Kuzari Principle: Help Wanted

To view a transcript or give a suggestion, please go here: messianicdrew.blogspot.com After reading additional literature from the anti-missionaries, it struck me that many of them use the Kuzari Principle as a platform from which to attack belief in Jesus. They argue that the religion of the Rabbis is the same religion that was practiced by Moses. The law, consisting of both the Pentatuch and the authoritative oral teaching magisterium, was believed to be handed down in an unbroken chain that exists to this day. Some of these anti-missionaries are arguing that Rabbinic Judaism has a strong historical foundation to its claims (ie the revelation at Sinai during the exodus), while Christianity does not. I find this claim fascinating because every other historical source I have ever read says the exact opposite. The claim that the exodus is unhistorical myth is not all that uncommon in the journals of ancient near east history. For example, Baruch Halpern said "The actual evidence for the exodus resembles the evidence for the unicorn." The claim that the life of Jesus is myth, however, occupies about the same place in mainstream history as young earth creationism does in mainstream biology. So something is very, very fishy about these Rabbinic arguments. I want to come up with a response to the Kuzari argument that is more than the armchair speculation that I find on Internet Infidels and other counter-Kuzari websites. Here's the companies i would recommend. Artscroll, Matsuda, Feldheim, Judaica Press Atares, Koren Hebrew Publishing company, The Gutnik Edition is also good but make sure it's the entire Chumash and a further update. JPS is not kosher but some people make the mistake of confusing it as kosher. Thank you for you time. |
